Synchronized swimming

Synchronized swimming became a regular activity at À Contre-Courant in March 1994. By April 29th of the following year, the club was sufficiently organized to host the sport's Provincial Masters Championships, which attracted some 40 athletes. In October 1995, synchronized swimming was part of the program at IGLA 95, an event organized by ACC. That marked a first in the history of IGLA, and the response was tremendous, thanks in particular to the presence of male competitors - a huge first for many spectators of this sport. Finally, on May 25, 1996, ACC hosted the Provincial Synchronized Swimming Championships at the Cégep du Vieux Montréal.

Currently, ACC's synchro program doesn't include a competitive component. The activity takes place during the fall and winter sessions and breaks for the summer. As coach since the fall of 2009, Isabelle Rampling's priority is to create a friendly and relaxing environment for her small group of enthusiasts. Her suggested goal: develop an individual program set to music from September to May and perform it during a mini-gala held at the end of the year.
